Please see the Racing and Competition forum. There are lots of answers there.

[QUOTE=iDomN8U,Aug 22 2007, 09:18 AM] I don't understand why motorcycle helmets wouldn't be allowed, they are the most compliant helmets.

Motorcycle helmets are basically rated for single impact in a single event, while an SA helmet is tested for multiple impacts from a single event.

Mostly everything about your car has been said... Bfluid and oil. Bring some oil with you just incase you're burning oil. Don't forget to check your oil between sessions and check you air pressures.

Also get a good nights sleep and bring lots of water and fruit. Keep yourself hydrated and your body fed. Its tiring being focused on the car and the track.

How likely is it that I will burn through a set of brake pads? I would like to attend my first lapping day soon but don't have the first clue how to change brake pads myself, let alone at the side of a race track. If I had my brakes inspected by Speedstar prior to an event, should that be enough insurance that I would have enough brakes to drive home on?

Take your tire off and inspect the amount of brake pad.. Make sure you put back the tires and torque to spec (I like 90 lbs)

Yes - Speedstar can tell you if you have enough. If you are new to lapping, you don't need to worry about going through pads unless you have next to nothing left anyway.
