i honestly felt the '04 + were "better", but no one believed me.

Well I finally took the car out of storage and this is my first real impression of the MY04. I had about two hours of solid driving around town and on the highway... so here are my thoughts compared to my old MY01:

- I definitely noticed the additional torque down low, seems to be more flexible across the rev range.
- The Vtec transition is still very strong IMO
- I didn't miss the 9k redline ??
- The car felt more settled over bumps, ruts in the road etc.,
- The redesigned body work, coupled with the colour, chin spoiler, wing, strakes, definitely make the car 'stand out'. Lots of looks from other folks on the road.

On another note, the car only had 12,000 km when I purchased it and I can't believe the wear and tear that it has. Stone chips on the front and some stupid scratches on the interior plastics.... piss me off!

anyway, just my 2 cents.
just keep pushing it, whenever you can

it loves to be driven hard

Most people are just naturally going to prefer the model they have

Love my 04

Paint is rather soft, a few stonechips already after one year.

Very true. However, most owners of pre '04s haven't had a chance to actually drive a newer model - at least not for an extended period of time.

it's just hard to form a proper opinion without driving them both.

I personally love my '03.
