Default First real drive in my 04

Well I finally took the car out of storage and this is my first real impression of the MY04. I had about two hours of solid driving around town and on the highway... so here are my thoughts compared to my old MY01:

- I definitely noticed the additional torque down low, seems to be more flexible across the rev range.
- The Vtec transition is still very strong IMO
- I didn't miss the 9k redline ??
- The car felt more settled over bumps, ruts in the road etc.,
- The redesigned body work, coupled with the colour, chin spoiler, wing, strakes, definitely make the car 'stand out'. Lots of looks from other folks on the road.

On another note, the car only had 12,000 km when I purchased it and I can't believe the wear and tear that it has. Stone chips on the front and some stupid scratches on the interior plastics.... piss me off!

anyway, just my 2 cents.

Yea, compared to my 03, here's what i noticed right away although i only have 300km on it now:

-Suspension feels better and tighter, did they rework the shocks?

-love the extra grunt, didn't think i would even notice it but i did, haven't even hit VTEC yet.

-Really like the little things they added to the 04's like tail-lamps, wheels etc.

-Tranny feels even better, did they rework the synchros?

rack? steering?

I didn't notice a big difference. Turn in was crisp.

the rack is slower in '04 and up.

you'll notice it at the track.

The rear is softer, the front slightly firmer to improve handling.

you are probably right, I didn't get a chance to run at the limit. However not sure if the new ratios will translate into slower lap times, I felt a bit more comfortable with the balance of the car so I might be able to push a little harder.

you just end up working the wheel more....especially at hairpins.

you end up having to cross your hands.

Man, this 04 is as perfect as it gets in terms of $$ and yes, even in comparison to M3's and 911's...
