When I first opened my facebook account 2.5years ago I knew it was going to be HUGE.

Pretty scary stuff though considering you don't even have to have a college e-mail address to open an account anymore. There are children in elementary school on facebook now... i'm getting too old.

Never used Facebook and never will.

They are just one of many sites where people are ignorant as to how their personal information is being captured and used.

They've announced they are going to setup a mall-like e-commerce service:

The first crop of companies that have built their own software into Facebook, which includes Amazon.com (nasdaq: AMZN - news - people ), Microsoft (nasdaq: MSFT - news - people ) and Forbes.com, have access to data about the social connections between Facebook's users and are permitted to sell their own ads on their pages within Facebook.
