Dunnville Autodrome
Ok boys and girls just got back from two days of lapping at the new Dunnville track. It is 2.2 Kms long and very tight with a couple of decent straightaways but they have very sharp turns at the end one is 90+ degrees and the other is a 180. I was there with the SVT owners so it was Cobra's, Lightnings, Contours and Focus's with a couple of other Ford powered or owned brands. My Focus was very good through the twisty bits but down the straight 170hp don't cut it with 300+ in the Mustangs and lightnings. The S2000 would be interesting but the track is so new that they had not completed the curbs etc so there were a couple of areas with a couple of inch drop offs and lots of gravel got onto the track. There are also no facilities yet so you pee in the weeds or take on the porta potties !!!
Don't get me wrong it has lots of potential but you better have good brakes and tires for this one I was hitting around 130Kms on the long straight and the big boys were 160-170, but as you know I don't normally suffer from the red mist so if I got real serious maybe 140. The S2000 should be able to match the Cobra's but should have better times through the twisty's. It is very flat so the turns are marked with distance to go markers and signs showing where the turn goes (really helps) especially the first few sessions. I do have video from the car but not being a pocket protector owner like some of you no video on the site but if you buy me a beer or three we can get together and have a video look see if I am not out on my pocket bike !!!

Ahhh the red mist...so many have it and don't realize it.
Do you know of any other dates that will allow us to run the S2000s?
Oh and I'll buy you a beer or 2 to see the video!

No dates I know of as the only reason we got to go was the closing of Toronto Motorsports Park at the last minute. We had people from Texas, North Carolina and Oklahoma as well as Ontario coming so they were lucky to be able to work something out. I think we were the second group to even use it other than the owners of the track with their formula cars(formula Junior)

is this the new track around Ottawa?
if not, where is this one located?
I have some pretty good video going around Mosport if someone wants to get it up on the site.

Dunnville is in Dunnville !!! Get out your handy dandy map find Cayuga and then follow highway 03 to Dunnville. It is about 20 minutes away from Toronto Motorsports Park towards Buffalo.
