Thumbs up Doin my own oil change

I've got that maintenance flashy button on my dash and i have been tolds that it means i need to have an oil change. Is this right? If so i plan to do my own oil change on the weekend but i would like to know where the reset button is for the computer so i can get rid of this annoying maintenance light that flashes every time i start my car. Thank god it goes away after about 3 seconds.

Thanks in advance

Check under the hood forum, it will eventually no longer go away.

It's something like, hold the trip and the other button beside it and turn the key on that resets it. Something like that.

You should write down when you do oil changes so you know when they are due. If the car is new to you, you should just do an oil change and start fresh. Just because the light is blinking does not mean an oil change is due. If the warning light was not reset at the proper time it is possible to be due for an oil change and not have the light blinking, or not need an oil change when the light is blinking...

Sorry, I can't remember how to reset it, I look it up in the manual each time it comes on because I do not use it for any kind of maintanence reminder.

Hold the trip/reset button then insert the key and turn it all the way to the II position. Hold it for 5-10s and it will reset
