Does anyone have an ABS code reader?
Hi,
I have a few friends with generic OBDII readers and I asked one of them if his can pull up an ABS code and he told me that you have to have a specific reader for that. Never having owned a reader myself yet I believe him sort of though, he's been known to be wrong so feel free to correct me here.
In anyway, does anyone have a reader that can pull the ABS code that my car is throwing? My ABS light has been on ever since pulling the car out of storage from winter months. Would like to look into this as I have a feeling its seizing my rear calipers just a slight bit to heat them up quite a bit, but not enough to make the car feel sluggish.
I am located in the Vaughan area so the closer the better as I don't want to be driving the car long distances with the brakes like that obviously.
Going to try and call Part Source also as I know they do regular engine code reads for free.

Could be true, but I figured a good place to start is to see what the code is. I have a feeling (nothing but an inner gut feeling here) that one of my ABS sensors is toast. It could also be throwing a code that something is up with the brake system. I will search for the method of jumping the OBDII port... If you have a thread or link handy that would help as the search engine on s2ki is beyond me lol
