Desktop PC fukd
My desktop PC sais Secondary IDE 80 Cable not connected right after it does its memory check when it boots
It boots up past the Windows XP boot up screen and then just stops and then reboots the computer.
Safemode does the same thing as well...
Is my HD fried?

Normally, your hard drive isn't connected to the secondary IDE controller. Do you have anything connected to the secondary controller? You may have a DVD or CD drive connected to it.
Do you know how to go into the CMOS setup when it boots? If so see what is connected to the secondary controller. I would diable the secondary controller and see if it will boot OK, minus whatever is connected to the secondary controller.
This is easy and doesn't require removing anything from the PC. If this doesn't show anything, you may have a bad controller (part of the motherboard) or whatever is connected to the controller may be bad (DVD/CD). This may be a cable that needs to be reseated on the motherboard (secondary controller connector).
Good luck,
Bob

What is the possibility that you may have a bad driver in Windows? This is going to be tough, since it won't even boot in safe mode.
Do you have a boot disk? You might try and see if it will boot in DOS. Do you have tools like Norton handy that can run in DOS?

Bob, I appreciate your help...
A bad driver in Windows is possible, but yeah...i cant even boot in safemode.
I have a boot Disk, but no program like Norton to run in Dos.

yo ian.. maybe you can give it to my bro and either he or I can look at it...
if its bad hardware.. then you might wanna research getting a new MOBO..
if its a corrupted OS... you would need to backup your stuff on the HDD and reinstall the OS...
I have a few Qs....
1) Does it give you a quick BSOD right before the reboot?
2) When exactly does it reboot? Before the startup boot screen, midway, or after?
3) Can you try running in safe mode using the line-by-line command prompt startup (the one where you need to confirm all drivers need to be loaded)?
4) When you boot up..does the BIOS show ALL the proper devices? (i.e. DVD/CD/HDDs)
lemme know.
