cracked windshield, where to get it fixed?
Hey,
I was on a road trip and a stone cracked my windshield. I know places like Apple Auto glass can fix it. I was wondering if there are any shops fellow members recommend?
Thanks in advance

Ended up going to Speedy Glass (aka Apple auto glass) in Richmond Hill.
I dealt with a fellow named William, very friendly and professional. 905 884 1793
He explained to me the procedure and the risks involved.
For example, there is a chance the windshield can crack during the chip repair process.
If chip is located away from the black border, the chances of cracking is very lower.
On the other hand, if the chip is on or very near the border, than the chance is higher.
There were lines coming out of the crack, and was told this can be saved as the lines were shorted than an inch in length.
After the fix, the lines were gone, and barely noticeable.
Highly recommend this shop.
Hope this post will help others
Cost for chip-repair: $99 + tax. Also covered by insurance, and should not affect premiums. Please confirm with your insurance broker / insurance company.
Cost for windshield: Depends on car and this is not covered by insurance.

I just had my truck fixed at Speed Auto Glass, I got a stone chip in it yesterday, it was $99 plus tax, lifetime warranty on the repair. The radiating lines around the centre of the chip disappeared, it just left a small dot in the middle, not too bad. Far better than replacing the windshield , I've had chips expand into huge cracks on other cars so I'm glad I got this done quickly. Takes about 30 minutes.
