s2krob,
The v60 has bad reception, as do most motorolas. I find that Fido is quite good and very flexible. I have a Ericcson T68 and I've had good reception within the Toronto area and even now in Orillia near Rama (back last yr they had no reception). My cousin recently purchased the Nokia 6200 (only offered in the US). He purchased an unlocked one for about 175US and that phone has the best RECEPTION i've ever seen in my life. Sometimes phones make a difference and this Nokia has had killer reviews all across the board. You can purchase them on ebay.com for as low as 125US now I believe, just buy the unlocked one and join Fido when you are here.

Most motorola's ? which ones per say ? Which specific v60's ? there is the c, ci, i, g, t, models.
and Fido is not even using the 850Mhz band , they're still using GSM 1900, 1800, 900 MHz .
This is where Rogers GSM is slightly ahead in the GTA. As well, Bell and Telus networks as they still have all of their motorola handset automatically switch to Analog when out of the Digital Service Area..

simon,
sorry I wasnt aware the v60 had different models. All i know is I have several friends with V60 phones connected to the rogers network and they all said its horrible. - maybe that is rogers fault. I also have many friends with the V66 (its smaller than v66) and all have had very bad reception with it (all using rogers or fido). I've also had my share of Startacs back in the day and I think they have very bad reception (I used rogers). Sorry if my information was incorrect. However, I still like Motorola because they look good.
