Hi Simon,

I don't really care TOO much about the manufacturer of the handset. Telus is basically Samsung and I guess they're all right.

I'll probably get the 520 or 540 and be done with it.

As long as I can customize some ring tones and crap like that it's fine.

I'm with telus with a Samsung A540... It's not bad... Reception is good. The phone is SUPER clear (incoming & outgoing) but it WILL drop a call when switching from Digital to Analog.

That's the only thing I don't like about it.

It's the best phone I've had thus far.

I have the 540 too and I hate it...it is a pita to use but then I think all flip phones are. My last phone was a Sanyo and it was, by far, much easier and far more intuitive than this Samsung.

Reception is good, user interface sucks.

yes I agree and that is why if you go Telus it's the V60ci is the only handset I recommend. I use it for about 2500mins / mth. It's rock solid.

The samsung's and LG's do as Mike says "suck ass"

with the V60ci you will not be able to customize ring tones. Ring tone customization is usually with GSM handsets.

Its all about the 850mhz up here bud.

I have so many bars on the phone I can't lose a call up here.

My asshole neighbour is a cocknocker at Rogers, he's putting up towers all around here so we have good service.

I can't stand him but I do appreciate his towers.

Rogers bow to my demands too, so I like them fine.

For me the best system to date is the CSC&S plan. I swear by it. Cheap - no dropped calls - no cross connections.

Hmmmm,

I'm more concerned with the clarity of the phone than the GUI. How's the V60 in terms of reception? Is it $100 that I really need to spend over the 540?

It's just that I view cell phones as pretty much disposable things nowadays, so why get an expensive one if you're buying a new one 1 year from now?

I change phones every few months, I need bleeding edge technology or I'm just miserable.

Go with the company who has the best phones, Rogers right now is king for cool.
