drive an S/C S2000 and tell me if YOU feel the same about an S2000 after that....

an extra 100 HP to the wheels changes the complexion of a car...if you know what i mean.

Why the change of heart?

So, i test drove a Cayman S from Pfaff last week and wow, i was quite impressed.

-Love the sound of the engine and also hearing it from behind by back.

-Love the handling, easily outhandles a S2k

-Love the smooth power delivery and had a high fun factor

-Love the looks of it. It has a hint of the Carrera GT from the rear, beautiful!

-Love the porsche feel.

-Love the feedback from the steering. easily the best steering of any car i ahve driven.

-Hate the list of options they have for it. There's a ton of options and big $$ and they make you pay for each and every one of them!

Overall, great car for twice the money of the s2k.

I"m thinking of buying it...
for once we agree.. you keeping the S as well ?

no change of heart....

a supercharged S2000 stands on its own merit.

when i "lean" on my car, it's pretty fvcking fast....that cannot be disputed. the handling and balance remain stellar....so what's the downside? only power delivery......v-tec engagement will fvck you up mid-corner or on double apexes on a track.

there is no downside on the street.

(cayman 295 crank HP compared to S/C S2000 295 wheel HP)

so if you drove your SC'd s2000 at Mosport for 2 hot laps, and you then drove a Cayman at Mosport for 2 hot laps, and you drove a boxster S for 2 hot laps, which car would allow you to produce the fastest lap time ?

of course factoring the cayman would be as Nabeel's test driven one.. just curious to know your perception or is it simply a case of comparing apples and oranges

I would think the Cayman would fix some mistakes resulting in a faster lap time.

The one that you're least afraid of crashing.

at mosport specifically (big track), my car is (will be?) faster than a cayman S or BS with me driving.

good point.

i have a lot of fun in my car knowing it ain't gonna cost me any more than 40K to replace it - new. and in a way, that's why it's physical condition is irrelevant to me...it's a cheap 40K car....not a 100K NSX. and i treat it as such....

nabeel knows, if you get scared at mosport, or it spooks you because you have a "moment" you might as well park it for the rest of the day...cuz all you'll be doing is tippy-toeing around the track from that point on.
