Default Carfax- Can Someone Look Up a VIN for Me?

My girlfriend is looking to buy a 2004 MINI Cooper S. She has her eye on a particular example would like to have the VIN run before we go any further.

Any assistance?

I know a friend that is in car sales but I still think it cost money every time someone inquires....sorry couldn't be more help.

The carfax account lasts about a month and it's unlimited carfax searches. If only you posted a month earlier, I would've been able to help ya out. Try posting on other forums, maybe you'll get someone with an active account.

you could hopefully find a forum where sometimes a member has "free carfax for a month" thread up, and they can look it up for you for free. (tho for CDN models, its not always the best/correct, especially if the car is older).

else, i would suggest finding out at which bmw/mini this vehicle was originally purchased from the current owner (if they know), and have them get service history/records for you. at least that covers the maintenance aspect. as for accident/major damage/ministry related issues/liens, i guess carfax type thing is your only option. if you're for sure serious about the car, just see if they have a 1-time usage of it for a smal fee and pay.
