Hey guys,
I recently got my car back from the shop after getting T-boned on my passenger side rear quarter panel. The damage wasn't too bad, but I needed a new door, my rim broke off the axle and i believe my shock absorber was banged up. According to the shop they replaced it with all new parts, and when I got the S back it looked like they did a great job.
Aside from that, I noticed when I'm on the highway and I drive over a moderate bump, the rear end feels like it wants to fishtail. The car drives in a straight line and doesn't seem to need an alignment. This also happens when cornering a bit fast, once again the rear end wants to lose grip again. My tires are relatively new as well. Is it possible the new shock just needs time to break in? What would you guys recommend?
Thanks in advance!

if your car has been hit in any area your alignment will be off. our cars are so small that suspension parts can be affected regardless of where the impact was. i would suggest that you get the car back to the body shop and make sure that your car's body/frame is straight. once straight, then proceed with the alignment.

Sounds you've got you some bumpsteer!
You shouldn't replace all those components without an alignment, the shop should have already done that.
A new shock will take time to settle.
You could also check to make sure the spring spacers have been removed (early s2000 problem)
After that kind of incident, definitely take it back to the bodyshop.

As others said check alignment, also depending how many kms are on your car, having one new shock in the back could be causing your problem, it would be like replacing one new tire or brakes in the rear...the one wheel will respondto a bump differently than other 3 having a new, stiffer shock/spring
