O&A are not the best show ever but still better than free radio just because of their higher limits on what they can do.
As you all know, I'm no prude, but Carlin's seven words you can't say on radio, used just because you can, well it shallow.
Shock TV/Radio/Movies, are geared towards the shallower mind. I'd like to think I've got a couple more neurons firing than that.
However, to each his own. Just my opinion, not a judgement.

I love George Carlin, but you'd have his show edited say on the sunday funnies with those archaic ones from chum fm.
But his show would completely be uncut with XM ..
XM Rocks !!!!

And that make it better?? Yea right! The comedians or any entertainers that needs to resort to vulgarity to be funny, are a discredit to their trade. BLAH BLAH BLAH.......
The CRTC is anal retentive when it comes to limits on cdn FM radio stations. Yes vulgarity being one of them but don't assume that's what I was talking about.
I'm talking about the entertainment factor. The bits they can do that would never fly on a public station. Edge 102 pushes it pretty far but it's nothing like what you can get on O&A. Not even close my friend. Sorry but PG13 may cut it for you but it gets old real quick.
You bitch about paying for radio yet you pay to watch television and to surf the internet. That don't make no sense homez.

I never listen to the radio when I'm home. So it's a car thing. So we will skip over the higher audio quality issue straight away. Yes I pay for satellite tv, it has the ability to provide a higher level of quality viewing than off air does. Believe me I researched OTA HD before I made the move. If I could get 75% of the programing I get now at 0 cost, I'd kiss Starchoice good bye. Internet, well that is a stupid comparison. Yes I use it for this banal entertainment here, but it's prime use is research, and work related. Hardly in the same bracket as radio in the car. Find a more convincing argument than that one.
When you say, "higher limits", well you'd be hard pressed to find anyone that didn't think you meant programing that didn't include "adult" content. Which always seems to include profanity.
You say entertainment factor.??? What does that mean in relation to the CRTC and what would or would not fly on FM stations. What am I missing that would expand my mind or improve my life that paying for radio would provide.
Don't get me wrong, I think if you live in Buttfvck Ontario and get static 24/7 then I would be in there like a dirty shirt. My wife has said she has used and enjoyed XM when travelling in the backwoods of the U.S., but here in TO. I'm calling BS.
I will not make further comments on this topic in the future, I have spoken!

jason meant nudity....on radio.
(fyi, CRTC does not descriminate...you apply for a specific category license or program certification, and the rules of that category are applied uniformly....every show we do we apply for certification....without which, the broadcaster could not air the program.)
