HADA good time Saturday. 6 runs, 3 of which I was a pylon killer. I was the fastest S2000...I was the only one . I think I finished in the top 10 overall fastest times though. I didn't count exactly how many drivers there were but I'd guess at least 50.
Everything ran smoothly, I was impressed with HADA.
There was one bit of excitement when a confused elderly couple were about to drive their Honda Element right into the middle of the competition. I was in the staging area about 6 cars from the front when I heard people yelling behind me. I turned around and saw the Element pull up along side the staged cars behind me. That's when the frantic yelling started. They then made a 90 degree turn through the pylons, set up as a barrier to the competition area, and headed straight for the middle of the parking lot where there were cars on the course! That's when someone from the timing tent ran in front of them yelling and waving his arms. They stopped just before entering the danger zone. Kinda sad and funny at the same time.
Cripes it was hot. Good luck to those running in Sunday's event. You're going to fry like piece of bacon in the sun.
