Autocross in large empty parking lots in Toronto, Markham or Richmond Hill
Anyone know of any large (pretty empty) parking lots in the north or east end of Toronto or Markham or Richmond Hill area (no interest in going to Brampton). I'm pretty busy with work and life, so I can't goto alot of the meets.
Thanks in advance for any help!

tell you what...you need to hop in your car, and drive the 2 or so hours to centralia, ontario- just north of london. its an airpark, with a 900 meter runway to play on- our course will be 1.9 kms long in total. you gotta drive the distance for a venue like this.
next sunday, july 21st WOSCA hosts the provincial slalom series there. www.wosca.com
https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=R...t=h&mra=ls&z=9
now, you can also drive to barrie molson center, events there hosted by TLMC- really large parking lot and really well run events there.
https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=R...=ls&z=10&via=1
PITL hosts events at the bramalea GO station. smaller lot. i haven't tried their events yet.
BMW club hosts stuff at the powerade centre as well.
check out www.CASC.on.ca for all your ontario racing needs- autoslalom or otherwise.
know this, you'll get up early, drive to the event, stand in the sun, drive back and be home by 5. it really is an all day commitment. bring water and lots of it, food, sunscreen. events run rain or shine typically. You will have to marshal to help out- no slackers here.
also, as an active member, just finding "large, empty, parking lots" ANYWHERE, is not easy. sure, you can find them, but can you find a lot owner who is willing to sign a contract to allow motorsports on their lot. Insurance is key and the CASC affiliated clubs carry theirs thru ASN canada. This is insurance not for your car, don't expect that- you're on your own there, but insurance for liability. Securing good lots is very difficult, no i mean, REALLY difficult. As a result, be on your best behaviour on the lot and around the venue- if a competitor or even a hooligan spectator does something to jeopardize a club's lot, don't expect to get back home alive.
good luck and welcome to another addiction.

Anyone know any large lots near East Toronto, Markham, Richmond Hill? Hahaha.
My schedule is too restrictive for many of the events noted above otherwise they sound like good events. The last time I went to an organized autox event was many moons ago.
