Anyone using primus voIP?
Ok, Bell has gotten rid of the requirement to have a landline to keep DSL.
So I'm thinking of getting rid of my landline for a VoIP line which is $15.95 a month instead of $23.50
If anyone has used it... good or bad?
Also, how does the box hookup? I want it to hook to my de-marcation point or directly to my dsl modem or something so all my phone still work and I can still have my wireless hub plugged into my dsl modem (modem in basement hub upstairs). Whatever solution my brother has limits him to only 2 phones
So I'd like to connect Line to DSL, Ethernet from DSL to VoIP box, then Ethernet from VoIP box to my wireless router. Then take RJ11 phone to my distribution panel in the basement

primus in our area was bad. constant phone clicking.. and then you're inclined to do the "hello ? hello ? " like when on a cellular call..
along with that, at times you didn't know if the call went through
on many long distance calls, we could hear the person, but they couldn't hear us.. was a pain..
i went back to copper via bell..

I know someone with Rogers VOIP. He has been through a couple of service interruption in the last 6 months. I can honestly say I don't remember my Bell voice lines being down even once in 15 years. I wouldn't switch to VOIP just to save a couple of bucks.

I switched to Bell digital voice...saved a few bucks over regular service but nothing significant. Uses the same copper loop but instead of terminating on a DMS, it terminates on the MCS platform.
