c'mon, it's a $100k+ car, u can afford the $70 diagnostic at the stealership.
it's not like S and Civic owners where they have to go ghetto and use the paper clip method to read CEL codes.

Im going to buy one today and clear that damn light.
CDN tire has a nice one on sale.

I have an ODBII cable that I use for the MINI, i don't think it has a tin can and string interface though.
See if they have one and come up we'll read it. I think I have a hieroglyphic translator
