Default Anyone ever lose an oil cap?

I lost mine today, probalby at some point on the 401

Was driving the car earlier today which was fine. Even checked the oil when i had to fill up. Didn't really drive it hard.

So It probably came off while on our way to dinner tonight since i drove it for a bit at 7Krpm for a bit. As soon as we got to the lot we could smell what i thought was fuel. Could only really smell it coming through the vents while at idle. Pop the hood to have a look and notice the oil cap was gone with some oil splatterd around.

The car is home now and still reads ok on the stick.

It's fresh oil in there since i did an oil change last weekend and tightened the cap how i always did.

Guess next time I'll have to wrench it down. I remember it being extremely tight when i removed it for the oil change. Probably happened to the previous owner

damn... i had that happen to my beater as well... but, luckily, I found it on the bottom shelf in my engine bay... this was totally my fault as I was in a rush and forgot to stick the cap back on after an oil top off...

you sure you put the cap back on?
is this on the S or another car?

The threads were probably stripped a bit.

Get a fancy Mugen or Buddy Club one instead

It shouldn't. The threads in the engine are metal.
