Thanks for the comments Borbor, I completely understand. Being new on the S2K scene and this being a kinda of journalistic approach, I didnt really want to ask people to move their cars to more preferred locations/ backgrounds etc. That does it, next time I will put my beer down and concentrate on my shots 100%.. Cool shots...only a couple of things I suggest in PS, I'm by no means a professional
- fix the bumper gap in pic 1
- the solar glare is out of place or the pic is not bright enough to justify
- match the license plate reflection in pic 1
- pic 2 is cropped really weird...too much pavement, rear of car is cutoff etc.
it's the small details that distinguishes one from good to great

Thanks Borbor, hope you had luck selling your Cannon stuff. I just broke a 580 EX but I wanted a version II. To be honest I switched from Nikon about 2 yrs ago and would have not done so if I tried out a D3. That being said I am now using a color checker to make my own profiles and I can base them on any camera in the DNG converter. Most of my recent pics are based on a Mamiya ZD or Fuji S5 color profile with the color checker. The profiles are then loaded into LR.
If I were you I wouldnt really switch right now because colors can be manipulated in LR. Unless of course you need better AF and clean above 1600 ISO with a D700 / D3. Oh yeah and I liked the Nikon SB800 more than the 580EX.
Thanks again.

Too late for that lol, already sold off everything but the long sigma and have the nikons in my bag already.
Canon didn't really bug me overall, but the little things with the Nikon is pretty handy.
