2 hours of chipping at the ice and the driveway is 2% clear! yey! ohh would u look at that... nice snow removal trucks left a lovely 2 foot snow bank in front of the driveway... oh gee the fun I will have for the next 8 hours, let me tell YOU! wait... is that a thick, juicy layer of salt i see scattered down the street? undercarriage cleaning here I come!

It'll melt. I wouldn't even bother trying to get rid of it.
You need some winer tires 
We have 2x as much snow here and my lil rsx just plows through it all. I helped a few people get their cars out of the parking lot at work friday.

Winter tires wouldn't have helped...my driveway is a sheet of ice and I tried to he-man way of getting over the snow removal berm...stick it in reverse and go ...well, I got stuck in that 
. But it was kinda fun trying to punch a hole in it with the SiR ...
