Am I too old ?

Thanks for the replies and opinions! It's only January, so I've got a few months to decide what to get
The battle comes down to a s2000 again, or a boxster. I might give a 370z a whirl, but I owned a 350z for 11 months and wasn't too impressed.

My 2 cents
I'm about middle aged (just turned 39, I assume I will live to 80 maybe 85, not a chance at 100 for me) I have had my S2k since 2007, and I bought it over a Boxster for a couple reasons - its more reliable, less expensive for parts and at the time was faster or same performance as the boxster.
Being its a Honda, not likely you can find something out there that's more reliable in its category.
I do like the new Boxster/Cayman, haven't driven one yet but might be an option for you, but likely over $55k base, and you can get a AP2 for $20-30k.
The new corvette seems impressive for $55k, but I haven't seen one in person to see if they improved things.
The 370Z has nice HP, I have only driven one with auto trans, not for me but might be more exciting/fun with manual.
My mid-life crisis purchase will be a sport bike, just got my licence last year, and for $4-5k for a used CBR 600RR its a huge thrill to ride.
Let us know what your thoughts are when you drive some of your options!!
Eric

I'm looking at around 30k?
I've driven a few boxsters before and I do like them. The steering and sound is intoxicating. But it's not the same fun as the s2000. And yes, the maintenance on that could be quite high if there's anything catastrophic. That's the thing I find with german cars that I've driven. They're almost too refined for me. You don't really see the fun / precision in them unless you take them close to the limit. Under normal driving conditions, they can be quite boring and not worth the premium. The e92 M3 is a monster, but I'm not willing to pay for that kind of maintenance.
And back to perception, a modified german car seems to attract less attention to cops than a modified japanese car?
I did own a 350z last year. It came stock, felt boring and heavy. I added coilovers, wheels, etc. But I just couldn't deal with the heavy transmission. I have a feeling the 370z will be quite similar, but a drive will be quite telling. Not really a fan of the G35/G37.
