My brother has a set of Klipsch Promedia 2.1 speakers for sale. They have never been taken out of the box. He just got a new computer and they were included, however, he is going to use his old set as they are 5.1. These things cost 180 US which is about $285 CDN (I know, our dollar sucks). He will sell them for $225 or BO. Shoot me a PM if you are interested.

I don't have the money for them now, (after christmas for sure and, I'd buy them in a heartbeat. Klipsch are the best quality at the moment. (THX certified) They have set a new standard in pc audio. The only manufacturer that comes close is Altec Lansing..

good exposure for your post if he needs to get rid of them before x-mas.. if not, like I said, I'd glady take them in Jan 03..

I've heard good things about their 2.1 and their 4.1 systems, but Klipsch has some serious quality control issues with the amp in their ProMedia 5.1 system. Check out their web forum for more details.

I could recount my whole story if anyone is interested, but suffice it to say I've had three sets of PM5.1s die on me in about 10 months time. I am currently pushing Klipsch for a full refund and it's looking like they are going to do the right thing from a customer service perspective.

I'm not trying to discourage anyone from buying your brother's speakers. I know a guy who has had their PM4.1s for nearly two years now. No problems and he loves them. I believe their PM2.1 system is similarly well received. And Klipsch is generally a great company. Check out their high end home theater and home audio speakers. Awesome stuff. And I'll be first to say that the ProMedia's are the best multimedia speakers I have ever heard. I loved mine. Heck, I gave away my bookshelf system when I got the ProMedias. I want/need to replace them really soon, but there's nothing with a comparable sound quality to price ratio on the market right now. I am actually considering downgrading to a PM4.1 or PM2.1 system because most of what I do with my computer is listen to music. I don't need the 5.1. I just thought it was cool.
