Default 3M Acrylic Foam Tape

Anybody know where I can pick up some 3M double sided acrylic foam tape?

My side strake has come loose and it looks like the grommet has vanished?! I tried some regular foam tape from CT but it only worked for a couple of days.

Better yet, anybody get rid of/damage their strakes and have one of these grommets hiding in their garage?!

Rip them off and toss them to the side of the road. It's going to happen anyway, get it over with.

If they're installed properly they stay on just fine.

The problem is most dealerships don't know (or don't care) that 2 different sized holes are needed. They usually just do two large holes which makes the grommets usless.

I put mine on myself and had 0 problems with them.

This thought crossed my mind few times. The side strake has been problematic after my S is lowered.

Once the grommet is gone, I use the 3M carpet tape from CT to keep things together. It has been holding up for over a year. Few things to consider...
1) surface is clean and dry where the tape is applied
2) metal bracket at the wheel fender is not out of shape so it doesn't constantly pushing plastic piece outward.
3) good luck

I was able to buy the grommet without buying the whole strake kit (contrary to what the dealer said).

Used some 3M foam tape (donated by dealer) and the new grommet and it's rock solid!

Good for you. Which dealer you got the grommet from?
