Default Transmission Trouble

Howdy all,

So I'm driving on the Palmetto this morning shifting from 4th gear into 5th, but it doesn't want to go (grinding), so I let the car roll down some speed and go back into 4th. As I get off for my exit, I notice I'm having difficulty going into ANY gear, but it's less than a mile to my office. Then - go to back into my parking space and reverse is a no go - it just grinds and won't go into reverse at all. I pump the clutch a few times, go into 1st (with a little difficulty) and pull around head-in. As I'm rolling into my space (car in first, clutch pedal in) it is bogging, and the clutch isn't disengaging.

First thing I checked was the clutch fluid level (and appearance) which are fine. Lately, every once and a while, I've had the clutch "hold-on" to 1st gear when rolling to a stop - it's not disengaging, and I have to "jerk" the lever out of 1st gear. But, all the sudden, it's MUCH worse today - and with all the gears. Any idea what's going on - something out of alignment? I know all the synchros didn't go at once! I'm going to push the car back out of the space and drive around the neighborhood - if it seems ok enough to drive to Rick Case with some rev-matching, then I'm going - if not, I'll have it flatbedded up there to avoid further transmission damage.

change the tranny fluid, We have seen this happen before to a member and when the fluid was changed, everything worked again, A mechanic might not be a bad idea either

Make sure the 12mm nut on the clutch pushrod under the dash has not come loose, this will cause the problems you are experiencing. Adj the freeplay in the rod to a bare minimum, just enough that you can see it barely move in the master. It's not the tranny fluid, the disc is dragging from incomplete dis-engagement, or the splines are sticking on the mainshaft.

PS....PM me your cell and I'll walk you through this
