Default Tires

Well im in the market for tires once again so i decided to get feedback from you guys that have had these tires. So a basically tell me what your pro's and con's are on the following

Size i will be running on the tires are as follows
FRONTS:
235/40/18 or 225/40/18 (stretching the tire on this set-up)

REARS:
265/35/18 or 255/35/18 (stretching the tire on this set-up)

BFGoodrich KDW2's
with a tread wear of 300 these are by far from what ive heard good for street and strip and Y-speed rated capable of speeds up to 186 mph

Falken ZE512
Had these on my old car with a tread rating of 420 and lasted forever, but the size i will be running actually falls in the 360 tread wear with a W-speed rating so it changes.

Falken ST115
Never ran this tire so dont really know what its capapble of and how good it is

I have the BFG KDWs and they are great tires! 20k on them and they still have tread left! Far cry from the 10k i got from s02s and s03s... and cheaper too!
Remember they were the tires the comptech S2000 used to win the SuperFour Challenge...

My friend had KDW2's and his lap times in AutoX dropped considerably. I've heard this from many others.

I have RE050 pole positons and love them. Falken's suck. You spend so much money on your car. Why would you throw cheap tires on it. Go RE's, Mich PS2's or Yokohama's.

KDW does last forever, on stock 17s i've finally ran down rear in about 26k and front i could've gone another 15k more.

BUT i personally hate KDW, no traction, squeeling everywhere.

by the way, i have hankook ventus rs2 on my 16" right now.
I LOVE THIS TIRE, i'll buy another set when i run down.

if you are willing to try non japanese rubber, give it a shot, it's super cheap and by far best tire i've had.

I'd second the rec of the Hanook. My friend that had the KDW's replaced them with Hankooks and he is very happy.

" KDW does last forever," higher wear = harder rubber = less traction.

Ive become a real big fan of the ventus. Ill be buying a set for my dads M3 this week after driving phil's car!

The kdw is supposed to be really noisy as for the reviews ive heard.

If you want hardcore performance on a decent price go with Toyo Proxes RA1......R compound so you wont get many miles out of them, but unshaven they will rock your world.

I'd never put anything with a treadwear of less than 200 on this car, but that's just me, for less expensive grippier tires the Falken 615's have a good reputation. I'm running RE050A Pole positions, they are definitely tops in my book for a max performance wet/dry, though the RE01's have the highest grip of any non-race tire tire rack has ever tested. Just don't trust them in the rain.

I'm running PS2s on 17" Volks right now. Very happy with them in terms of grip and (lack of) noise, but I can't comment on wear yet.
