Default So I go to leave for work this morning----

And This happens:

The spring broke, so its heavy as hell. And I think its uneven, and I can't get it to budge at all.

Both of my cars are in the garage, I had to get a ride to work with my roomates.

I've been needing to replace the whole door, and door opener but I just haven't gotten around to getting estimates. Plus its rediculious how much that shit costs to install.

anyone know any good garage door guys--- local?

There should be a 'release' cord or lever that will open the door.

you mean a release from the garage door opener???

that is already done.

the door itself isn't attached to the door opener anymore...

the door wont move because its heavy as hell probably now imbalanced and the spring isn't doing its job to help cuz its broken.

I thought that this was something i could do but the more i read about it online the more i realize this is something probably best left to the pros.

anyone know any good local garage door guys?

You can be sure no one will be able to even try to steal your S though...

Thats sucks, why don't you buy a unit at Sears and install it?

a garage door opener is not going to help him. the spring and or the door needs to be replaced (based on his statement). It's a pain it the ass, and very dangerous if you don't know what you are doing. I don't know anyone, but call a pro.
