Default I painted the calipers

So in addition to changing the oil today, I also decided to tackle the calipers. I had the G2 paint system stuff since Christmas '03 and was tired of putting it off til "next weekend".

Here are two pictures taken after using the brake cleaner, but before painting:

I taped some paper up just to help reduce what I may get the paint on. Below are some pictures from after painting.

(not the best picture in the world)

We decided just to let the car sit (sans wheels) overnight. Tomorrow we'll put the wheels back on & I'll post some more pictures.

Thanks to Dave for all the help today! Even though I've been hitting the gym a few times a week, my little chicken arms weren't strong enough to undo any of the lug nuts! One of the downfalls of being so petite, I guess.

It was really not hard to do at all. The key thing that I heard before-hand (from Ganthet) was to make sure you take off all the wheels before you start (as opposed to taking one off, painting that caliper, taking off another wheel, painting that caliper, etc.). The thing I realized (as I moved from painting the first one to the second one) is that you can sort of lay the first coat on kind of thick (not so thick that it drips, but not so thin that it just barely covers).

Josh, you're going to laugh, but as I was sitting there painting the calipers, I did notice lots of similarities between that & doing my nails! LOL
