I had the same tear and went to a couple of places, To much money for a little tear. I ended up getting a piece of fabric from Yelis300 glued it to the top, So far so good...

^^Did the exact same thing here. Give Andres a call, hes got multipe slashed tops. He told me to cut the size I needed, needless to say it was the weirdest feeling to slashing a top but it was for a good cause. Honda wanted 2800 installed, I took care of the problem for under 7.99 only for crazy hold fabric glue.

Yes, it is. Got it at Michaels craft store. Called Liquid fusion clear urethane glue, non foaming, nontoxic, 100% waterproof. Applied a 2x2 patch behind the passenger seat on the inside as well as 2 behind the softtop latches. I did get a approx a 2 inch rip behind the passenger seat before I tried fixing it so after the patch I used a dab of glue on the outside just to make sure its sealed.

...have u tried filing down the elbowed hinges that make contact with the top as stated before in these similar threads on how to prevent it?
