The sun International Elise was compared to the Mustang Cobra R on a variety of tests and the elise beat in every single one
Awesome machine, the best handling machine with one of the best powerplants.

Only an idiot can compare the new GTR - what will be one of the world's top elite sports car - to a POS Cadillac.

I don't think it is very farfetched to compare the GTR to a CTS-V. Lutz has changed alot at GM, to look over Cadillac now is being nieve.

Regardless of everything, a lightweight sports car with a properly matched power plant will always perform better overall than a big heavyweight with tons of power to compensate. The Lotus Elise is the ultimate minimalist sports car today at a very affordable price. The power plant is decent (maybe could use a lil more power), and as such this car will have great acceleration and put many other more expensive cars to shame in a slolam or road track.

I would think that as S2000 owners we would have realized these things by now...

Well what's wrong with having the best of both worlds? A lightweight, nimble sports car in the S2000 and a powerful, brute strength in the new GTR.

BTW Nissan has acquired the aid of Lotus to finetune the new GTR's suspension and coupled with its AWD, it should handle beautifully.

Its a good thing that Nissan reserved the responsiblity of making a powerplant to themselves. Chances are Lotus would have tossed a 4cyl Toyota engine in there if they had the chance.
