Default Help.......

Well last night i decided to get on the gas and power shift into second gear. Big mistake...... I now have no second gear and big rattling noise when the clutch is out and the car is at idle. Does anyone have any ideas? Do i need a new transmision? The car runs fine and i can shift from first to third with no problems but the noise it makes from the gear box when idling worries me and i need to get it resolved asap. Anybody know where i can take it to get checked out? Thanks for the help..

Id like to think that maybe your second gear is GONE...butIm not ASC certified so in the end you are going to have to get it checked out , but my guess is the clutch.

Happened to me in my EG-6, my second gear went to hell , then 3rd...then 4th, all in 1 week.

My mechanic checked it out and it was Just the clutch. So let us know whats up!

Its probly a internal damage like a bent or broken shift fork. If it was your clutch it will afect all your gears. The grinding noise you hear is the gear being lose in the tranny. I would recommend not driving the car that much because the loose metal in your trans could cause further damage. The quikest way to confirm if there is any internal damage is to drain the tranny and check for metal in the oil.

The fork is internal part of your tranny. It is the part that moves the gears into position when you select gears. The fork you are talking about is the clutch fork.
