The Drama that is my life...

You are a good person Ricky for deciding this on your own. It is utlimately YOUR decision on what you wanted to do because you have to live with it, NOT any of us here on this board. The kid is lucky you let him go easy, but I would make sure when you go after him civily make sure the police report is written up and that you get copies of all that. The kid needs to learn his lesson even if it was his own stupidity that got him in trouble. Hopefully he does learn from this.. HOPEFULLY!

Just a thought... but since you are 'forgiving' him.. does he not have a record again?
Sometimes just the booking is enough. That way a record will be available .. IF there is a next time.
I agree.. that wholesale smacking him up might be much.. but there was NEVER a time in my childhood where i would have chased someone in a car and then shot them... much less at 19 years old as far as i'm concerned an adult.
Again... WOOOSA .. because sometimes the fight just isn't worth it. ie DT .. but then.. i'm still considering options.

What I find strange is that a person with no record would do something like that without any motive.
Put a 19 year old in a car and you've got trouble. Put 3 of them and you've got even more trouble.

I hope someone tells this kid that he is really lucky.
1. there are a number of us that if in a situation with any kind of gun pointed at us, we would have fired our own weapons to defend our lives.
2. that he is getting a second chance froma very nice guy
3. that paying for the damages is very very cheap compared to what this could have cost him
