Thumbs up Car slips out of 2nd, 4th, and 6th.

I got a problem, I recently got another S2 and it was working great, but 2nite on my way from miami i noticed that my car was getting out of 2, 4, and 6th without the clutch. So i tested it i took it 2 about 70 in 6th gear then slightly pushed on the stick and it just flew out of gear. Has anyone else had this problem? And if u did what was the solution? Thanks.

Wait I'm confused, is it popping out of gear on its own or is it just that you are able to shift back to neutral without the clutch (which is pretty normal btw).

no, it's not normal even if he is able to.

The gear can go into neutral if you gently force it and use a little bit throttle. It shouldn't just go into neutral from each gear

I think you are misunderstanding me. I am not saying it should just go into neutral by itself. I meant with gentle force it could go into neutral without the clutch. Was just trying to clarify.

i was saying that it won't be normal if it just goes into neutral as if the clutch is engaged...

Yea, with a lil throttle i can take it out of gear without the clutch, thats a lil strange because my last S2 didnt do that. If its normal, i wont worry about it.

if you are using the throttle to put it in neutral, it is normal but i wouldn't do it just because it does...

i sould start by changing the gear box fluid and while your at it change the diff fluid too. yes I know the diff will have nothing to do with shifting problems, I jsut change them both at the same time.

lol... its not a problem. dude your telling me that you didnt know that the s2000 was the only car that you could change gears without using the clutch( well probably)... I dont know why nor have had any one explain to me but the s2000's gears can be shifted out of gears to others from i think 2nd(or maybe 3rd) and work your way up to 6th without using the clutch...

I that that it would be common knowledge by this time...

If you mean that it pops out of gear by itself than thats a mystery in itself and IS a problem... but let me assure you that all s2000's have that ability. so dont panic.. its normal.
