my brother went kiteboarding today. he saw the video and said the guy is an idiot because 1) yesterday the wind was easterly... so you are constantly being sent towards the shore. In his case already being on the beach, he went into a building. 2) he never let go of the bar, which arches the kite to get lift. By releasing the bar he's still connected to the kite by the harness but the kite would be dead.
