Thanks Mav. I called the dealer and they kept insisting that the smaller one was the correct one. Before I called them though, I called another dealer to ensure that I had the correct part number. Then I raised hell. As of now, they are ordering the correct filter and I have to go back on Monday to get the new filter installed. It is freaking amazing that "Certified" Honda Techs don't know this stuff. If it wasn't for this forum, I never would have known the difference. The part that gets me the worst though is that they don't admit to their mistakes and then you have to argue and complain to get anything done. Freaking bullsh!t.

you guys should just order your own filters from handa.com and if you really want to have the dealer do the job supply it yourself. that way you can have the piece of mind you know the right parts are going in. i personaly don't trust any dealer to do my oil.

I use Pure One filters exclusively, never a worry but it's nowhere near the girth of the newbie Honda filter. Maybe I need to hook it up with one of those daily e-mails I get that promises to make one larger and last longer, then I'd have a happy filter I suppose.
Honda America needs to do a better job of communicating this information to dealerships and making sure they get it in a form other than a fax. My dealer in Vermont took weeks to get the TSB on the spark plug and that was AFTER it was posted with a jpeg on this website. I had to copy the damn TSB and hand it to them.
WTF?
FWIW, Braman did my oil change but that was with Castrol Syntec and my own filter (noted above). They charged me $9.

I called Honda USA about the oil filter and they said that the 15400-PLM-A02 was the right filter. They see no other updates on our filters. Please advise.
