Brake Pad Replacement Question
good morning guys
im a little confused on something and wanted to check with you guys on a brake pad replacement issue. im currently replacing the front brake pads and easily took out the old pads. however, when i began to get the new pads ready, i noticed something strange. i have the two inner pads in on both rotors , but noticed the two outer ones look different from one another and have why or if that even matters. it appears as if one of the outer pads has raised dots on the bottom while the other does not.
here's a pic of them for reference.
Raised Dimple on pad (see lower corners)
Without Dimple on pad
my question is, is this an issue or can they just go in and be fine?
also, are those metal backings behind them shims? i read the tutorial and it mentions to reuse the OEM shims, but it looks like they already come with them on the pad. FYI, these are Satisfied Gransport 6 pads i purchased from tirerack just a few days ago.
Thanks for the help!
