OK so being it as that i live and work on Miami beach, all you need to do is go to Lincoln road or anyone where down Collins and walk around...
Seriously its as easy as that. The variety down the whole beach is really fantastic and there is some great south american places.
As for being strictly a mom and pops i wouldn't know exactly but Sazon on 73st is really good cuban food.
Little Brazil is fire.
New Campo Argentino i hear is good to.
Those 3 alone are on the same block lol but that's where i live around so im only really familiar w/ those i don't eat out much.

You're a little late guys... already been to Miami and are back... but thanks anyways.
We ended up trying both La Carreta and Polo Norte. Both were delicious (so much so, we went to La Carreta twice)! Thanks for those suggestions.
Unfortunately we ended up spending so much time at the beach that we never really had the time or energy to try somewhere a little nicer.
On a side note, we also tried a place called "Sports Grill" and the wings were amazing! Probably some of the best I've ever had (maybe even THE best).
