Default Activity Ideas for Nassau/Paradise Island

Good afternoon everyone,

I recently won an all expense paid trip to the Atlantis Hotel on Paradise Island March 7-11th from my company. I have never been to the Bahamas. I am planning to get there a couple days early and would like to check out Nassau and the area. Can anyone provide some ideas of places I should see or things I should do? Also, how far is it from the Atlantis hotel to Nassau? I know I want to do a sport fishing trip for an afternoon. Thanks in advance for the help.

Oh yeah, what will the weather be like?

If you're a diver awesome, if not you'll still enjoy snorkling. The weather should be perfect by March. The underwater visibility is well beyond 100ft at times... Oh and carribean reef sharks a common and you will see them up close so don't freak... Take advantage of the seafood, there's a restaurant in the casino that serves a mean shrimp platter. The disco's in the casino are great also. But if you have any questions about the amenities pm GranPrix aka Dario he can answer all your questions...

I work at Atlantis. NAS is 100 yards over the bridge from PI where Atlantis is . There really isn't much to do on NAS. Only place I suggest is downtown and club Waterloo.

For some FRESH seafood, and when I mean FRESH, we're talking about fishing fish right in front of you and getting scaled, go to the small restaurants right next to the port, tell them to take you to the FishFry area.

I ordered conch fritters and fried grouper, they pulled them right out of the water behind the restaurant and prepped it, the restaurant is either called Twin Bothers or Seafood Haven.

Have Fun.

The concierge has a ton of info on sport fishing trips, I'll call the island and try to find out if there is anybody near the property that'll take you out on a fishing charter.

Yup, right on the beach. We have our own that we rent out and right next to our private beach on the public side, which would be to your right if you're facing the water, the locals also rent them out.
