I can return this unit back to Costco and get a full refund if I wanted to, but I want to give the loaded softwares to someone that can use it rather than delete it and return it.

Just the 2009 Maps is worth it in my opinion.

I assume the opt. fm receiver for traffic updates is not included? I'm casually looking for a GPS but mostly want the traffic updates for my commute.

The traffic is offered as a "paid" basis. Its not free.

that's true - there's a monthly service fee, but I think that the 650 have as an option the traffic receiver which is bought separately - which I'm assuming is not part of this wonderful package?
