Default Why can't "search" find some threads?

I was looking for the Post Your Leather Questions Here...They will get answered and I used the Search function. I knew that Sean works for the Leather Institute, so I entered those two words in the "search for" box and hit Search. But this thread did not show up. Several other threads containing "Leather Institute" did show up, but not this one.

Then I tried a "Written by user" search with Sean's handle (2002S2K) and the word "leather". Three hits show up, but not the thread I was looking for.

So why doesn't the seach function find all the threads? What must I do to make Search find the thread that I was looking for? For completeness, the other parameters for the Search were all defaults (i.e., In Forum: Any Forum; Search Method: All Words; Search for: Whole Word).

I have the same problem with many threads. I know they are there but I can't find them - not even the threads I started myself sometimes. Something is definitely wrong and its getting worst.

I have also found the same recently

Often I know the thread title and want to get to it quickly - is it possible for the search to look in thread titles rather than the text?

Same here. Ideally you'd be able to search 'Titles', 'Text' or both.

Here's one more example:

I have tried every serach option, used many different keywords, but cannot find this thread using the search.

IMHO, the search is broken.

What made this situation worse is that I cannot use Google to do searches on this site. Seems like Google can only access the Library and the Market pages, and none of the forum/club threads. It would be great if the forum/club threads can be indexed by Google so that we can use an alternative search engine to find what we want.

So here is my plead: Please fix the search function so it actually searches (and you may want to enhance it with the "search title only/search title and text" capability as suggested). Or make it possible for an external search engine like Google to index the forum/club threads. Thank you.

There was a bug in our search engine and it wasn;t updating thats why some more recent threads were missing. its running now to update.

Soon we'll have a much better search engine.

I just asked the same question, and no one responded. Glad I'm not the only one who noticed this.
