New site speed?
I'm talking about the time between clicking a link and first receiving a response. Actual page loading depends so much on local browser cache and the like.
For me at first, the new site was significantly slower than the old. Now it seems to be just a tad bit slow, if not the same. I was surprised to read some people talking about it being a lot faster. What's your experience?

I think that occassionally the server gets locked up on something that hasn't been debugged yet and the site slows down. So most of the time it will be fast, sometimes, until the bug is fixed, it will be slow.
Don't forget to factor network latency into the picture. The first thing I do if a site is slow is to try a traceroute and see if there are network problems.
