Thumbs up I want to see EVERY post i've ever had on S2ki.com

Ok, i tried searching for every post i've posted, but some posts don't show up. Reason why i ask to see every post is, i just like to browse through my older posts.. Sentimental thing. :-)

Can any of you mods suggest anything?

I did try the SEARCH thing with my name inputted, but it doesn't show everything i'd like to see.

You are going about this all wrong. You can see EVERY post from any user here. Try it on yourself. Go and click on your own username in your post here. This will bring up your complete profile. Near the top of that page, you will see something that says, "Find all posts by this member". Click on it and see what happens.

actually xviper, i have a problem with that too.

when i do the "find all posts by member" i get 615 pages of posts. 615x25 per page=15,375. i have 15,600-something. so already we are missing some posts.

and then, my first post on this forum is on page 328 (it is ordered from most recent to least recent). everything from page 328 to 615 is a just a blank page. so i am missing around 7400 posts using "find all."

the more recent posts seem to not be included, but all the posts from back in the day are, so maybe that's the problem.

Odd. I've never tried looking at ALL my posts. I just see a whole whack of them. In any case, this is still better than using "search". Hopefully, an admin will step up and try to answer you questions.

Not much to say really. It's the only way to find all of your posts so if it doesn't show them all then it's somewhat broken. Why is unclear. We are on the very edge of the capabilities of the database server (well beyond yet actually but at least it still sort of works) and that's why I've order a replacement for it.

It may be the the indexes on the database tables need rebuilding but that's impossible with the current server. When we switch to the new one next week I'll reindex everything and recount all of the topics and posts and that will probably clear up some of the issues. There is a lot of database housekeeping that has been deferred due to the limitations of server we currently have.

Could it be that posts in dumpstered threads still register in the number of posts, but wouldn't show up on the search pages.

Or is that too obvious?

It's just out of sync. The longer you've been around the more out of sync some of the counters are likely to be.

It'll just be the counters - they do go out of sync over time, with deletions, moving threads to dumpster etc.
