freq did you clean out Norton Firewayy by any chance?
I have no clue. I know I used Norton Disk Doctor, did a de-frag, a Scan-Disk.

Since I got a new laptop I threw everything at the desktop to get it cleaned up and running smoother.

I have no clue what I'm doing...................

Actually, it just happened again. Double-clicked on IE, S2KI is my home page and BAM there is Acrobat.

A number of issues reported recently (google ads problem, bulk upload, acrobat opening) and they are all linked by a common thing: norton firewall...

I sure hope I don't have to buy that POS to duplicate the problem. Not sure I could even if I did. Maybe I should update the forums with the new skin and see if that helps...

Slightly off-topic, a Norton update recently broke a piece of software from a company I do some work for. This isn't isolated to this board.

I am seeing the acrobat startup panel after being in the site for about 5 seconds.

My favorites link goes directly to the main forum page.

After the page loads graphically, there is hesitation while the acrobat exe runs.

My task manager shows the Acrobat exe running but there is no window of it being open.

I am not running Nortons of any kind. I am running McAfee Security center with anti-spam and Virus Protection.

No Hard firewall or soft firewall installed or in use.

Not complaining but I just wanted you guys to know of another instance where this is happening

If you have questions for me, please Pm me

Primo - clear your cookies and tell us if it still happens?

Is there any acrobat file actually loading? i mean what happens after the acrobat startup screen appears?

krazik found the solution to this yesterday and I implemented a change to fix it. The problem occurs with Acrobat Reader 4.0 and below. 5.0+ is no problem. It's due to a bit of javascript that checks to see if you have the acrobat plugin. It causes 4.0 and below to open. I removed the check so it shouldn't happen anymore.
