Default Chat

I was able to get to it from the home page, but MyS2K page used to have it at the top, along with the indicator for the number of people chatting (which had been stuck on 0, even when people were chatting). Is is being worked on? It's not included in the options at the bottom of a page, either.

Chat has been removed. It's ultimate fate is undetermined right now but I'm planning to look at it again after I get the v5 stuff done. Our account expired in mid-November and nobody noticing for 6 weeks offers some indication of how much it was used.

Bummer...I just resurrected the Thurs night chat. But we can continue to use the link from the home page as long as it is there. Thanks.

Deb, that's what Erik means - the link won't be there as the license on the software expired, so we can't use chat anymore.

I think there must be some free Opensource stuff somewhere I will look around cthree

Oops...OK, it would be nice to do something. Chat is fun, even if we don't use it that often. Thanks!

If the link works use it. I'll leave it there for now. Chat was a service we paid for which I don't want to continue to pay for if nobody uses it. I don't want to install software and maintain it on the servers for this either unless people use it. If we are going to have a form of live chat then I want to implement it in a way that people use otherwise it's not worth the trouble. To that end I will re-examine chat once I get the mass of other software maintenance tasks off my plate. Hopefully I can come up with something the members will find useful and valuable.

Well, it worked Thurs night and several of us had a nice little chat. I'll keep trying it until it dies. Thanks!
