Default Away for a while

I'll be away from things until Aug 13th due to a family emergency. If you are waiting on me for something I appologize but it will have to wait until I return.

Stay safe and I'll see you all again after the 13th.

FWIW I'm in Toronto, my mother is in the Hospital basically waiting to die. She has brain disease brought on by lung cancer. She's not expected to recover and we are all just waiting until she passes. She's mainly unconcious all the time except for a few brief minutes in the morning. My hope is that she goes quickly as laying in a paliative care unit pumped full of morphine is not much to live for.

The whole family has been to see her and she knows we were all there so at least that's some good news.

I know people need some things from me but infortunately my circumstances haven't allowed me to deal with much lately outside of the family. Things should settle down soon and I might get a change to do some work but I'm not making any commitments. When she passes I'll have some things to do as the executor of her will but until then there isn't much to do but wait.

Thanks to all who have sent their best wishes, unfortunately there is no happy ending to this story. My wish is for her to pass quickly in her sleep, to clear up her estate as quickly as possible and go home and resume my life.

Cheers and thanks,
Erik

Erik,

This board is secondary to your family life. My thoughts are with you and your family. Take care.

Erik,

I know what you are going through, as it was ten years ago that my Mom passed away in much the same way as yours is about to. She had breast cancer which metastasized throughout her body - brain, liver, lungs (of which one was completely removed), bones, etc. She fought bravely for six years, of which we thought she had it beat after the first three were over; during the last two years, it came back with a vengeance.

All I can say is that our prayers are with you and your family. In the end, she will finally be at peace and no longer in the agony of the battle. Do what you need to do for yourself and your family to get past this ordeal. Then deal with this web site WHEN it is right for you.

Godspeed to you and your family!

Mike
