Finally. Replaced the tired OEM seats.
Howdy all. I have had my 2001 for 19 years now, and for the past 5 years I have been chasing the idea of rebuilding and recovering the OEM seats. After going down several empty paths, and a few ending up to be outrageous in price, I gave up early this year and started hunting for a set of OEM seats that were in good shape instead. Thankfully I was able to track down a black set out of a 2005 with just under 50,000 miles on them. They have a couple of small imperfections, but are pretty close to mint - the leather isn't really showing its age.
1. Side by side of my old drivers seat (left) and the replacement. You can see how the old seat bolster is completely cooked.
2. After a full cleaning they are ready for install.
3. Installed.

Nice job!
What/how did you clean them? Any links or tips?

Sure thing.
1. A mixture of warm water with a touch of Tide detergent (powder), soaking a rag and wiping them down. They were covered in dirt/dust. Thankfully the temperature was in the 80s so a light amount of water dried quickly in the sun.
2. Two passes on each seat using this leather treatment and a small microfiber towel: Griot's Garage 10963 Leather 3-In-1 Spray 22oz
Simple, but effective.
