Thumbs up Where to live...

I will be PCSing from Louisiana to San Diego around June 2009. My potential place of work would be around the SD MC recruit depot. I'm trying to get a good idea on the good neighborhoods to live in (houses), nothing too seriously priced a I am only an Army SGT, therefore little money, married with a kid. I am trying to find some place close by where I won't have to battle too much traffic on a daily basis, yet a moderately priced good area, friendly with low crime as I have a pretty big car collection. Any advice, knowledge or help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Well you may have traffic regardless. You will be working around the heart of San diego. And also you can't forget the Int'l airport. I live up north and I couldnt imaging how my life style would be if I lived down there. I am sure someone will help you out

I live in Mission Valley and work right across MCRD at the SPAWAR facility. The good thing about living in Mission Valley is the trolley line and being able to take the trolley to work. I'm not in the military but have noticed that many of the apartment complexes in Mission Valley cater to the Active Duty members.

Hope that helps a little...
