Anyone going tonight?

 

Don't believe anything is going on tonight with SDCE. Andy's a good buddy of mine and as far as I know they did CnC in carlsbad then headed to the German Car Festival at HRE till noon. They do morning events on the weekends and evening events during the week.

Btw Nick, that site has been inactive for awhile. Go to the main page and see when it last has been updated.
They've moved everything to FB and Andy sends out texts to those that think FB is the devil and refuse to join.

 

if you go to meets section, you'll see our friend edwin organizes the wednesday and saturday meets. the location changes but Im sure he will post up today where it is. i might go since ill be in the chula vista area. BB ap2 , if you see me say whats up.

They are Edwins meets. Edwin is really cool but his wednesday meets tend to get out of hand when idiots and Nokturnal show up and attract the chula vista police department. SDCE has actually been staying away from those meets for that reason alone.

 

Well, seeing as Tapex off Bonita is literally right next to the police station, i don't think it will be too crazy.

Regardless of whether it's SDCE or not (details), it's a meet, and i'd like to check it out. Nadeem i'll post again an hour or so before to confirm.

I'll also check out the SDCE page on FB.

EDIT: is the FB page private? I can't find anything under SDCE or San Diego Car Enthusiast.

 

Wasn't planning on going (was pretty tired), but ended up stopping by for a little bit cuz wife wanted to get a drink. Met a couple ppl...nice sized meet. Not much going on though...just ppl standing around talking, huddled in their little groups. Funny thing is, I used to enjoy meets like that before. I think I might have outgrown the standard meet lol.

 

ya i've gone twice i think. Nice to go every now and then to see new cars and potentially meet people. And Ruboneoutforgoodluck, your right, the time i went i saw group you are referencing and they werent too bad. However, there were your 2 or 3 burnouts.. but adult bmw drivers lol.


I did end up meeting boostedap1 today at a bbq, really well informed guy. <<<< reason why its nice to pop in to a meet every now and then, cause you can meet good people in the community.

 

Yes, the FB page is a "secret" page. SDCE won't just let anyone in. They like active members that come out and join in on the events they setup. Plus its a very diverse group which like all types of styles and cars. If you are interested in more then I can tell you when and where the next event is going to be and introduce you to Andy or Patrick.

It's more fun if you attend with a group of friends. Otherwise, it gets boring real fast...Kinda like going anywhere festive these days. You go with people you know you'll have a fun time hanging out, go by yourself and its not the same...

Good to hear that you've met Dan, good guy. He tried to get me to come out but I needed a day where I could sleep in and do nothing.

 

I've met Andy before. I went to a Huntington Beach meet with SDCE a few years ago before they had any S2000's in the group. I actually emailed him already and he added me to the text list. He invited me out this afternoon but I already had plans. I'll hit up a get together with them sometime soon though. He's usually really spontaneous with his meet texts though (my buddy used to be in the club and would always get texts the day-of about a meet later that evening). I usually need a little more lead time to plan haha...i'm sure my schedule will coincide in the near future tho.
