Default Pulled over...again!

Yeah so I got pulled over again...i was coming from my friend's house in Santee. I was on the 125 south going 70mph on cruise control like I always do. Well I pass a motorcycle cop that had pulled someone over on the right shoulder. i pass him thinking whatever.

Well not a minute later, he's behind me flashing his lights. He had no reason to pull me over. He did not see that I didn't have a plate when I passed him the first time...my exhaust is not loud. The only reason he had to have pulled me over was suspicion that I had illegal modifications.

He pulled me over, asked me for the normal stuff, then asked if I had modified the car. I said yes. he then asked if I had anything he should worry about. I said no...i had just got the car smog refed a couple months ago. he tells me to pop the hood anyway.

Long story short, i got a ticket for no plate (no biggie) and another ticket for smog ref...AGAIN because of my AEM V2 intake. The guy was cordial, and he knew what he was talking about. he was looking for the carb/EO sticker, and couldn't find it. he asked if my exhaust was cat back, and if I still had my cat on. Thankfully, I did.

I don't have a huge problem with the situation except for the fact that the cop pulled me over without a REAL reason....just suspicion that he had "reasonable cause" to pull me over for modded parts. I guess it's time for me to look for a CARB legal intake...i think comptech is my only hope for aftermarket intakes.

So yeah...be alert out there guys....i was lucky this cop didn't measure my ride height cuz i'm sure i'm too low right now haha.

anyway...just thought I'd share...peace out...

More than likely he based pulling you over by the appearance of your car. If you were stock without those wheels in your sig he wouldn't have even bothered.

This is exactly why I don't bother with cosmetic mods in SoCal. Look at the shit the Evo owners who retain their wing get from cops.

Keep a low profile and for the most part you're safe.
